There is something wonderful about a square.  It is one of the simplest geometric shapes yet underutilized.  We design using rectangles.  Most of the things we stare at throughout the day (our computer monitors, cell phones, and televisions) are rectangles. Public space is no exception.  Architects design the space with lines and rectangles but call the final product a square.

What happens when you re-envision an empty "square" inside a square?
How does it affect aesthetics, balance, and purpose?
What happens when you subtract, invert, embed, and re-sample the image?
How does adding an additional line enhance the space?

What does a photograph sound like?
How would you respond if you were looking at a photograph and hearing the sounds of that location?  If the photograph could hear the sounds from their origination, how would they respond?
